I set an IES light behind the object and scaled it wider. Then this came as a result of the rendering. I know, I will push the light further back so it doesn’t illuminate the background that much. But how can I get rid of these spotted reflexions on top of the object? The artefacts are visible in the middle of the object’s top where there is this soft transition between the higher part and the lower part. You can see it very clear in full resolution.
Aren’t the spots on the object just the reflection of the spots in the light itself as it’s also really noisy in the background? I’m not sure about the scene but I think IES lights are not made to crank up the intensity a lot since they are what they are. Although I’m not sure how KS handles such lights but basically the amount of power of the light is also within the IES file I think.
Yes, I also thought of that. BTW is there a library for IES lights? I couldn’t find any in KS.
What I normally do is looking for manufacturers of lights and most of the time you can download their entire collection as IES files. If they are nice you also get a preview of the ‘shape’ of the light but I remember there’s also some kind of tool to create handy previews from those IES files.
I would check the scene unit system.
