I’m trying to render a transparent displays like the ones made by Samsung and LG recently. Can a material be both emissive and transparent?(i dont think so) I dont know which materials to use. maybe im supposed to make multi layered surfaces somehow? any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance
For screens and LED lights, I generally like to duplicate the 3D mesh, move the duplicate inward a little bit, change the original to glass/transparent plastic, and the duplicate into an emissive label of the screen. If that effect doesn’t sell it well enough, I’ll take the screen into photoshop and isolate the items that aren’t black and apply the label back as emissive.
