Import camera movement

Is this possible inside of keyshot?

I would really love to try this out, I think it brings a whole new realistic dynamic, but I’m not sure in terminology to search if it’s possible.

If you just want a bit of shake I wouldn’t bother to go this way since most video editors have such effects included. I personally would use something like the instagram video if I would like to combine real footage with a 3D model. That’s when you actually need the motion tracking like you see in the video.

I found this page about camera paths: Import : KeyShot

And it seems you can import paths from certain software. That’s quite an old page though and in the current manual I see this: * Import Cameras – This will add native CAD cameras to the KeyShot camera list. Only available for .fbx, .ma, .mb, .bip, .ksp.

But it doesn’t really mention if it’s also camera paths or not.

I would do it more like this: How To Add Handheld Effect in Davinci Resolve 18 | Add Smooth Camera Shake | Tutorial (youtube.com)

Doing such things in POST gives you all flexibility you need and way less time consuming than having to render out a scene to see if you did the right thing. If you do it in POST you just have to make sure you render a bit more pixels outside your actual resolution so it’s able to move the ‘cam’. If you don’t most software will zoom the actual footage but that will most of the time reduce the quality.

The KeyShot plug-in in blender should transfer the camera animations.
