Keyshot crashing on re-tessellate

Hi all, first time poster and relatively new Keyshot user here. I am trying to re-tessellate a large file to reduce polygons (hundreds of millions of polygons). However, Keyshot crashes during the “building” process.

Can someone help me understand what component of my company’s PC I need to upgrade to prevent this from happening? I am working with the following specs:
-RTX a6000 (using GPU mode for this)
-Threadripper 32 cores
-256GB DDR4 memory

The input file is created with SiemensNX (.prt) and can be re-tessellated upon import. However, we have contractors making minor edits after the file is imported, so we would require a lot of re-work.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Andrew. As far as I know, tessellate uses mathematical calculations, i.e. the processor. Strange that with a Threadripper this shouldn’t be a problem, but of course it depends on the amount of polygons we are working with. Can’t you reduce the amount of these polygons in the file outside of KeyShot?

Thanks so much… question on the mathematical calculations - if we’re in GPU mode would the calculations happen using the GPU instead of the CPU? Would be cheaper to stack a second gpu vs upgrade cpu.
