Hello all,
I am hoping someone can help figure out what is going wrong.
I have a model that was previously created (image 1) as you can see the point light has a nice glow, gives a nice look …
but here comes my issue.
When i try to import a new piece of the product into the scene, the light goes fully exposure and very very bright, what ever i try to do i can’t get the same nice glow back, can someone explain what is going on here or why does it do it please i have not changed any settings all i have done is import a new .step file and it causes this issue… it is very frustrating as i like the original glow and light output of the original file
to expand on the above, so whenever i import something to the file the light completely changes and looks like this
can you post a screenshot of your import settings when you import the piece? i’ve had soemthings like this happen before, but I can’t recall what I did to fix it.
- import the 2nd bit into a fresh project and see if it works properly.
- after you import the 2nd bit into the iriginal project and it messes everything up, please check your environment settings to make sure they didn’t change.
- depending on what you are importing from, make sure you aren’t importing any area lights or spotlights from the model. some file formats can hold lighting information that can be imported.
I would also think it has to do with the environment which got scaled by importing the other object. Feel free to share the files if possible and you still have issues.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the advice, i will do some testing today to see if the environment changes… with the imported file i believe it has no lights or anything attached to it as it is a new model from solidworks but i will check it out thank you.
Hi Oscar,
I have tried looking at the environment and it does not look like anything changes… not that i can see unless i am not looking in the right place… but i can send the files to you so you can inspect if you dont mind… what is your email please so i can forward the files
Happy to take a look, oscar [at] fizion [dot] nl
brill thank you oscar, i will save the file up and send it to you via wetransfer
