Renders aren't working

I installed KeyShot 2023 yesterday, and I’ve been working on creating some renders for work. However, every time I try rendering, I always get the same error from KeyShot

Has anyone else encountered this, or knows how to solve it?

I did but I’m not sure how/if I solved it. I think it has to do with how it saves files to a temporary location if you put the renders in the queue. What happens if you render it directly without using the queue?

Hi Adhip,

We recently released a new update for KeyShot 2023 which includes some bug fixes. Would you try to install this version and see if it resolves your issue?

Installers
For Windows: 2023.2
For Mac: 2023.2

If this doesn’t resolve your problem, would you please create a ticket in the support portal here with the following information to assist our developers in troubleshooting this issue further?

  1. Does rendering Background rendering mode work?

  2. Does the .ext file exist on the disk(if so please retrieve and provide to us)?

  • These will be located in this folder:
    • Windows: C:\Users\Public\Documents\KeyShot 12\Scenes or C:\Users\UserName\Documents\KeyShot 12 \Scenes
    • Mac: /Library/Application Support/KeyShot12/Scenes
  1. What Render type is this?(Animation, Still, CMF etc.)

  2. Does the disk containing the scenes folder have sufficient space?

Also, to get a more detailed analysis, please download and run the Windows Process Monitor on your computer. You can download the Process Monitor from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon

Please send us the Process Monitor’s log as well as the date and time when the test was performed. This will allow monitoring all system activity.

  • Start the Process Monitor
  • Start KeyShot
  • Attempt to recreate the issue
    • Please make a note of the date and time that you conducted this test.
  • Once the process is complete and/or the error is triggered, click the magnifying glass icon on the Process Monitor to freeze the recording.
  • In the Process monitor go to File->Save and save the file
  • Make sure that “All Events” is selected to make sure we receive all events.
  • Save the process monitor results in a zip file and send it to us through our WeTransfer link here.

Note: Please make sure to provide the time when this test was conducted. This will help us with searching through the log.
