Roughly it works that way, I’m not sure how much use KeyShot makes of the other features of a card like the RT cores and other RTX features. In V-Ray the 5080 scores about 4500 and the 3090 about 3500. In the V-Ray RTX version the difference is much higher because the 5080 has also more RT cores. And it’s VRAM is much faster than the 3090.
Looking at the price it can still be interesting to have two 3090s combined using NVLink and you will have a nice performance and 48GB of VRAM (this doesn’t work on newer cards).
@calvin.henderson ha! That’s a worth it! Be aware your Nvidia driver version is not one that’s recommended using KS. I also use a new one (576.15) but I had some issues rendering frames for an animation and could be related to my drivers. So if you encounter weird issues, first blame the driver, Nvidia makes a mess of them the past 4 months.
