Is 0,81 a bad score for the CPU performances ?

For your CPU it is I think, If you look at the post from 9 May you’ll see Jonathan has the same CPU and gets a 2.91. I got a way older CPU which is a i9 but still, 16 threads instead of 20 and I get 1.62.

I do see you’re using an older benchmark, try downloading the latest viewer and see what you get. But it could also be at the moment of testing your CPU was also busy with other tasks (in the background).

Hello, does anyone know if AMD Pro GPUs perform well on KS?

I thought the performance of the 4070 was similar to the 3090, since in game reviews they are similar. But in the KS it makes 65, while the 3090 gets almost 100 points.

Hi @tcp.cp

The amount of CUDA cores of the 4070 is 5888 while the 3090 has 10496 so that’s also the difference you’ll see in render performance using KeyShot or any other GPU renderer.

Currently the only actual option you have if you want to use GPU as a render engines is NVidia. I would love to see some competition between brands for that matter but there ain’t any. Most GPU accelerated software is either CUDA or Optix based which is both NVidia. Same with a lot of AI image generators for example, you can use them on almost all hardware but if you are looking for speed Nvidia is the only way to go.

It’s a bit the same with iGPUs, the integrated graphic chips within a process like Apple/Intel have, they are no use if you do something like GPU renders.

Here in The Netherlands a second hand 3090 is around € 650 which is a much better buy than a 4070 as you realised. Nice thing with the 3090s is also that if you ever buy a second one, it’s for now the latest consumer card you can use NVLink to have twice the speed but also twice the memory (a double 4090 would be twice the speed but still 24GB of VRAM).

Hi @KeyshotEnthusiastSC, did you click on ‘Run Benchmark’, I’m curious what that CPU will do.

@keyshot.admin

Is there we can turn this into a poll or questionairre where people can input their processor, speed, GPU and speed so it can be sorted in a graph or something? Would be SUPER useful in trying to sort and view rather than scrolling trying to extract information? Even a google form that can dump into a spreadsheet.
